This perception may just be among current trends, but at least for the time being, the opposite of humor is sentimentality.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"> Not sentiment. Sentiment is flavored or just distilled recall (Have been listening to CD set of &quot;To Kill a Mockingbird&quot; &#8212; polished, authentic storytelling).<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">I mean Sentimentality, the wistful longing to cast meaning. Wistful? I mean nauseating.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"> Therefore, the opposite of gag is gag.
