I’ve been fortunate to teach at the annual Fayetteville, Arkansas, WordCamp weekend from 2012 on. The volunteer-run program began in 2010. Such local workshops, held internationally year-round, “are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other,” according to its central website.
The following pages detail my presentation, “WordPress 101.” The 101 is for people new to WordPress, not knowing a “page” from a “post,” and other basic details.
Emphasized are how to create professional websites as well as unique personal blogs for free on either WordPress.com or WordPress.org, noting the differences between the two.
